This bundle, together with the trigeminal nerve, sends pain signals to the brain in the head and face. In addition, eating something cold quickly dilates the blood vessels so that they can return to normal body temperature and repair any possible damage to the body caused by a drop in temperature. This vascular process also stimulates pain receptors. This type of pain is more noticeable in both corners of the forehead. According to Professor Amanda, the good news is that this type of pain lasts for a short time, however, cold foods should be eaten slowly to avoid it.
