A letter written by the General Manager of National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC) has revealed that some IPPs are running out of furnace oil reserves due to which Lahore and Faisalabad The worst load shedding in the region will begin.

The letter said that Nishat Chunian and Liberty Tech Thermal Power Plants are helping in controlling load shedding in Lahore and Faisalabad areas but they have only a few days left to stockpile furnace oil. IPPs are required to stockpile furnace oil for 15 days but despite repeated reminders, storage at these power plants is not being met due to which 150 to 200 MW power shortage in Faisalabad and Lahore areas. Will occur and the worst load shedding will begin.
